There is a moment in every leader’s journey when the noise quiets, the excuses end, and the attention shifts. We love the concept of leadership, and we navigate it effectively in times of peace but when hard happens, we tend to shrink away, telling ourselves this moment is for someone else.
But you are not called to simply manage the situation. You are not called to maintain the status quo.
You are called to lead.
We live in a world where leadership is everywhere. It’s talked about constantly, and the information is endless and easy. From books to podcasts to certifications and beyond, we swim in it so much that we actually believe we are what we see.
But we rarely see leadership when it counts.
We rarely see courage.
Courage is dangerous.
There is no room for courage in modern-day leadership because those rules are built to preserve safety, not to pursue truth. They are designed for comfort, not challenge.
Courage exposes, disrupts, and risks everything for something greater. Courage doesn’t fit well in a slide deck, and for most, only appeals in their favorite quote.
A Biblical Pattern
Courage as an option in leadership is a modern-day myth that previous generations rejected. We are not called to a life of ease and appeasement. We are called for a mission, and a mission is never easy.
Moses was called to speak with a speech impediment.
Mary was called to bear A Son that would cost her reputation.
Noah built as the world mocked him.
David was called to face a giant with no armor.
They weren’t called for comfort—but to courage.
We think it’s different now. All that courage applied to the history books, but today is different—but is it?
Has all corruption been exposed? Are we surrounded by truth? Is hate eliminated?
It’s easy to see global problems and tell ourselves that we can’t control them, but what about our job, our family, our actions?
What are YOU called for?
It may not be to bring world peace, but it may be to bring peace to your family.
It may not be to expose an international injustice, but it may be to expose wrongdoing on your job.
It may not be to change the law, but it may be to change the tone in your home.
Embrace Your Calling
Courage isn’t just a calling for prophets, politicians, or pastors.
This is a call for you—the first responder, the business owner, the single parent, the chief, the coach.
The Calling of Courage doesn’t knock politely. It stirs in your spirit, demanding a decision.
This is your time—it always has been.
Be strong and courageous.
The call is here.
Answer it!
