We (the police) have always sought to "de-escalate" even if we did not call it that. We just didn't sacrifice officer safety first. None of us run Code-3 with the thought, "I'm going to shoot this guy as soon as I arrive" but true warriors (now the exception) should always be ready to exercise lawful use of force as the situation demands. I've been saying for years now that this "new world" of law enforcement gets cops killed and re-victimizes victims. God help us. Well done brother.

Powerful and necessary! It takes courage to stand for truth!

The police are simply being forced to practice “duty to retreat” legislation that has been imposed on civilians to the rejection of “stand your ground” laws for civilians including police to the temporal gratification of all criminals and anarchists.

Meanwhile, here in Wisconsin, Democratic state legislators have introduced a bill that in part, requires police "to use de-escalation tactics and the least amount of force necessary to address a threat safely."

Sounds nice on paper. I wonder how many of these legislators have even bothered to participate in a ride-a-long.

Based on previous states that have done this, they are making a decision that will increase the use of force and officer/civilian injury. They could easily research this decision if they actually cared about either of these issues, but they would rather pander to the uninformed, results be damned.

Precisely. Thankfully, for now anyway, Democrats don't have complete control of state government.

Thank you, sir, for your kind words. They are few and I'll take them when I get them.
