Saying that Washington, D.C. is dangerous is like saying the sky is blue. No one, until President Trump took action, would dare argue with that premise. If D.C. were a state, it would be the most dangerous state in the country, so let’s get right into why President Trump is using the powers of his office to drive crime down.
This Isn’t About Washington D.C.
While the president’s authority in local agencies would be limited in other cities, it made sense to use the capital city to point out an obvious issue: Law Enforcement has Failed Many Communities.
This isn’t so much about the problem in D.C., but it highlights the truth in many cities across America. Crime is too high and violence has taken its toll on far too many families.
At one time, crime used to matter to law enforcement leaders, but far too often it has taken a back seat to TikTok videos, goofy reforms, and fancy slogans.
Exposing Leadership
What President Trump is actually doing in D.C. is exposing the prevalance of cowardly leaders within the walls of police stations and city halls. They have forgotten the true mission of law enforcement (which is LAW ENFORCEMENT) and have become comfortable with “feel good” initiatives and appeasing the insane.
Crime control is not a complicated matter, and the crime in Washington, D.C. will be dramatically reduced by simply staffing the streets with cops and enforcing the law.
This will ultimately be the message to other leaders across the country.
They will have a choice to return to their law enforcement mission or risk the ramifications of losing federal dollars and support.
Some will continue to run away, but others will, once again, be given the support and encouragement to get back to business as it should be.
Personally, I don’t like seeing armored vehicles on the streets of America, but the blame for that lies on the very leaders who let their streets turn into third-world chaos rather than doing their job all along.
